Cozumel Activities, Dining and Entertainment
Cozumel is world renowned for it’s snorkeling and scuba diving sites. Sightseeing opportunities are plenty on the island of Cozumel, be it in the sea or on land. You can go on fishing and non-fishing trips and sunset cruises. From duty-free shopping to visiting archaeological sites, ecological parks, submarines and semi-submersibles, or even going horseback riding through the forests, there are many leisure activities available.
If you plan on going horseback riding, there are many trails in the forests that lead to areas where the ancient Mayans lived. You can discover and explore ceremonial caves and admire the various sculptures. Or, how about visiting Punta Molas? Punta Molas is a magical place where you can go visit the snail tomb, which is an archaeological site. You can also go to the lighthouse where you can look at the yachts and cruise ships that are approaching the island from the North Channel.
Dining on this Caribbean Island makes use of culinary traditions, as Cozumel’s cuisine is regarded as one of the oldest in the state of Quintana Roo and consists mainly of seafood. There are simple snack bistros and elegant specialty restaurants available all over the island, with something for every taste.
Nightlife in Cozumel is modest, yet vibrant. Nightclubs and bars are quite lively and always filled with friendly locals. The main attraction is the sea walk where most visitors and locals stroll by on the streets until late at night. There are many bars on the island that are open until the wee hours of the morning. Most hotels have their own bars and nightclubs and provide spectacular live theme shows for fun and entertainment.
